Snowkiting in Rumania
This year it has been the 4th Time that I went to the Winter-Air-Sports Festival in Rumania. I brought some friends show show them the great Mountains of Sinaia. I love this place and the people. Everybody is so nice and helpful. It`s so different to the cliche that people have in their minds about Rumania. So overall we had so much fun this week. Everyday there was something to do. We did awesome backcountry trips, Speedflying and Paragliding. At the end of the week our bodys were just so done ;)Here are some videos of our week:Tandemparagliding BigairSnowkiting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kw7TC3S8rZk&feature=youtu.beNow 3 weeks at home and then 3 week of Norway. Filming, training and finaly the Red Bull Ragnarok.

Triggernaut Sunglasses
Coming back from the US I drove straight home to celebrate my brothers birthday. Really nice BBQ by the way!So as I came to visit my family there was a package of Triggernaut sunglasses waiting for me. My mum tried them on and ordered one right away... because she likes the look...So do I ;))) www.triggernaut.com
Best Teammeeting Cape Hatteras
I`m back from our Teammeeting in Cape Hatteras. The Headquarter of Best moved from Florida to this new area to be in the best Spot for kitesurfing in the US. It`s preety much a long island, so you have perfect flatwater on one side and waves on the other side. So they drove down from Florida with two big Trucks and as our Team has so much muscles we helped unloading the stuff for two days. For the rest of the two weeks we spend with photoshootings and filming for the new 2012 gear. Unfortunately I can`t post any pics but I`m really happy with the new kites! Best rented a big house and the whole international Team stayed together for two weeks and worked out some new ideas for the next year.So overall it was an amazing week with lots of fun. I wish the food in the US would be better ;))Thx to Josh Pietras for this awesome pics!
Surfworldcup Podersdorf
At the second weekend of the Surfworldcup in Podersdorf the kiteboarding.eu event took place. It`s a new contestformat to bring back the show for the spectators. Every kitebrand that wanted to participate made up a Team. In our Team was Mike Schitzhofer for newschool, Annie de Jong for girls oldschool and me for the oldschool part. On the first day we won every heat and went straight to the final against the Team of the local shop Upside Down. We kicked out the big teams with riders that came here from all over the world. At the end it should have been a final between the local riders. Quite cool! For Saturday the windforecast didn`t show any wind, so we partied a little bit...till the morning ;))But on the next days there was wind out of nowhere and they started the heat. Unfortunately we lost the final. We wind stayed for the whole day, so they started the double elimination. The favorit kiteboarding.eu Team made their way back and won the event. 10.000 Euro!!!We ended up 3rd which is way better than I have expected at all.Well that`s it sofar. In 10 days I`m flying to Cape Hatteras/North Carolina for 3 weeks for the Best Team meeting. Dawson`s creek :)))
Red Bull Ragnarok Norway
The Red Bull Ragnarok is done. The battle is over. 200 people from all over the world registered for this special event here in Norway. On Staurday the windforecast looked good and so they started the race. It was so hard to pick the right kite size. The wind was going up and down. So most of the people went on 8m - 10m Kites. I took the 17 Taboo ;)) Actually that was a good decision. So I came first to the first buoy. 200 people behind me and suddenly the wind dropped. I was like ok that`s it. But then I realised they would only stop the race after 4 hours. The one that got the furthest would win. Doesn`t matter how you get to the next buoy. So we packed our kites and started to run. At the end we walked as fast as we could 4 km trough deep snow uphill and downhill. It was so exhausting! Sigve Boten overtook me by running. He is just an amazing Mountainman but hey I was still second. Luckily the wind came back and we could start our kites again. At the end of the second lap tow skiracers crashed in front of me going full speed downhill and flew their kites into my 17. It just exploded and I just freaked out. I was 2nd and then they took me out of the sky!!! Well the gods of Ragnarok didn`t want me to go for the podium. At the end I got 8 which actually is quite good dispite only 99 riders finished the first round. Two laps took me 3:15h and were 48km long. The RedBull Ragnarok was the hardest thing I`ve ever done and I´m gonna be there next year for sure. So now we stay here until the end of the week for some snowkiting, speedflying and parkriding (with a bagjump!!!).There is so much stuff to do up here. If you ever come to Haugastol/Geilo make sure to stay in the Haugastol hotel. Perfect place for snowkiters!
Las Vegas Baby
It took quite some time to get the photos of our US trip but finally I got some of Vegas. We came to Saltlakecity 3 days before we had to meet with the rest of Best Crew so we rented a car and drove straight to Vegas. It was a bit like in the movie Fear and Loathing. We had been awake for 48 hours and felt like zombies when we arrived. On the way up we got pulled over by a cop. We were going 20mph too fast...but we didn`t had too pay, just a warning ;)) A friend of us drove 7 Miles too fast and had to pay 125$. Lucky lucky! Our plan was to get our money back in Vegas, but the slot machine didn`t followed our plans, so we just walked around and did the typical tourist sightseeing stuff. One day we drove out to the desert. It was like in a cowboy movie from the 60s. Really impressive landscape. So hopefully more photos to come cause there was some snowkiting going on aswell ;))Thx towww.kbkimages.tkhttp://www.kbkimages.tk
Jumpin Chillsuit
New sponsor. Jumpin Germany sent me this amazing one piece suit. It`s so compfty. Now I have to force myself to wear some proper clothes when I get up in the morning ;) It`s prefect to chill on the sofa or for flying. Feels like your are sitting naked in the plane...ahhhhh Check out: www.jumpinshop.com
Snowkite Worldchampionship in Italy
Last year I was doing pretty good at the Race so I was thinking for this year i wanna skip the Freestyle and fully concentrate on Racing. Unfortunately the conditions were far from perfect...There was no snow on the lake, just pure ice. The first time I tried to ride on it, I just slipped on my ass and got pulled downwind. I brought my board to the Skiservice to make proper edges but it didn`t really helped. So the only way to ride upwind was to go Toeside (I don`t know why but it helped...)I did all my the races on the 17 Taboo which has an amazing upwind performance, but on the downwind section the handle buggy kites just beat me. So over all I got 9th which is okay for that kind of conditions.Well now I`m back at the Neusiedlersee and get ready for the big US Snowkitetrip with Jacob Buzianis and the rest of the crew.
Christmas present from Best
Hohoho I`m the "Best" Santa and I bring you the finest kites in town...Just got a new 12 and 8 Taboo 2 Bars and the new Armada. Franz Schitzhofer is shaping the boards the Armadas now and the first time I tried it, it just put a smile in my face. Unfortunately I have to wait till spring to ride it. But I´m gonna use the the Taboos tomorrow when I´m up in the mountains for a snowkitesession. The forecast looks pretty strong so I can test the 8....niiiice :))
...is getting stronger!!!
The day before I went to Norway I got a package just in time. Filled with finest stuff to power up my body. My knees love the "Gelenk-Support2" ;)) With the "Kick Speed" you should be very careful, cause it contains 6 times more caffeine than a Red Bull. So you are quite activ! Thx to Frank from www.best-body-nutrition.com

10 Days of Norway
John Arne one of the kitebrothers invited me to come up to Norway and shoot some video before the snowkiteseason even started. Well that was the plan.... Before I left it started to snow like crazy and right now we have more snow back home in Austria than here at the Hardanggervidda plateau. Norway isn`t that far from Austria but the journey was quite long. I slept at the airport on friday and took the morningtrain up to Geilo. It`s running trough such a nice landscape. We slept at some Cops house and went up to the Plateu every morning. So over all I had 9 days in a row of snowkiting. Pretty exhausiting for your body. I think I lost a few kilos ;)) But anyways my knees are in good conditions and I feel quite fit for the upcoming season...so stay tuned for the video!
The mighty Camera
if you ever wondered about the photos on my page and in the magazins you should check out Stefan Kuback from www.kbkimages.tk He comes from a skateboard background and so he got a pretty new perspective on kitesurfing and snowkiting. We are working together for the last five years and got some amazing pics that I will show my kids on day. So they will know what a cool guy their fat daddy once was...hehehe ;)))
Present from Prolimit
Yesterday i found this big box from the Netherlands in front of my Door. Fully packed with nice 2011 Prolimit Stuff.I even got a waterproof bag so I can put all my clothes and gear in it and do a Downwinder when ever I want! So a huge THX goes out to Edwin from Prolimit
Biggest TV advertisement so far!!!!!
This is one big achievement for me and Snowkiting in general. We did this campaign last year at the Dachstein in Austria and I had to double the famous Ski racer Marlies Schild. It`s for one of the biggest insurance companies UNIQA. You can see me at the TV Spot on Pro7 even on Primetime. Check it out the TV Spot !!!The person you see on the Print is a mixture of Heinar Brandstötter, Marlies Schild and me so there was a lot of photoshop going on ;))
New Sponsorstuff
Last week three bis boxes full of sick Protest clothes for the winter arrived. Looks awesome! So I`m gonna kite in style ;-)And yesterday I went to the SP headquarter in Vienna and got the fresh new 2011 Fastec Binding. It`s a special step-in binding. It seems like it`s specially designed for snowkiting. Everything I need the comfort of a step-in and the performance of a freestylebinding.Go check it out:http://www.sp-united.comhttp://www.protest.eu
Austrian Championship Judgement day
The Austrian Championship is over and there are some surprising results. I`ve been judging this year the freestyle event. Because of my broken finger I couldn`t train that much this year and so it was better to take it easy and do some judging instead. It was the frist ÖM I know with really good wind and so we saw alot of good tricks of the riders. Unfortunatelly Stefan Spiessberger`s shoulder (winner of last year) popped out once again in the small final doing a 313. I hope he is doing better soon cause he was on fire!Another shout out goes to Nicole Puxbaum who is my Teammate now at Bestkiteboarding. I teached her kiting 4 years ago and now she got 2nd at the Austrian Championship...quite cool!!!congrats to the winners: Mike Schitzhofer, Dominik Müller, Stefan Spiessberger and the girls: Cosima Blasy, Nicole Puxbaum, Ike Hodits
Bella Italia
After long time of working I decided to take some time off and make some holiday before the season is over. So some friends and I drove to Grado in Italy. It`s an amazing Spot. I was expecting some kind flatwaterlagoon. That was all I hear before of this spot. And i have to say I didn`t informed me that much but what I saw was unbelievable! It`s not a lagoon, it`s a huuuuuuge sandbank with shallow water. On some places the seaweed makes the water so flat that you don`t even see the windriffles on the water. It was like popping out of a mirror. We had five out of seven days wind but on the last three days it also rained alot. We didn`t care and went kiting even in some thunderstorms but at some point we got electric shocks before every landing so we know that was the point we had to leave;))On the last day my girlfriend and I drove to Venedig to make "Romantico tour". It was quite cool to see a city with no streets all they have are boats...But anyways there were way too many tourists so I was kind of happy do drive back home and make a check on my "Olsen-life-to-do-list"....
What`s going on?
Long time no hear. Well what have I done... I just worked my ass off the last few months to fill my bankaccount to the max. Cause a crazy new plan already started for Sept 2011. I`m kind of excited...wohooo :-)
Well what else... My girlfriend bought a nice new flat in Weiden. So we have a safe new home for the next few years. BUT unfortunately we have to leave the big Partyhouse in O.C.Podersdorf....
A lot is going on so far. In October I wanna fully concentrate back on university to finish my studying soon.
That`s it. Check out the pic that I found in the "Kleine Zeitung" about the Europeen Kite Cup-278.000 Readers!!!

Best Salesmeeting Portugal
Back from the Best Meeting in Portugal. It was cool to see all the people again and try the new stuff thats coming out. Franz Schitzhofer is now shaping our boards. The Armada gonna be my choice, an incredible board! The new kite is killing aswell. I did tricks that I haven`t done in a long time. Can`t wait to get my new quiver.
We stayed at a Finka and had some meetings for the first three days and went every evening to the beach in Guincho. The waves were big and especially on thursday the conditions were narly. We waves high as a house coming in. It was so loud, you can`t imagine. I got some nice washings but after some time it was real fun. The Italian Rep had to let one kite go cause a strong rip was sucking him straight to a cliffcoast with no exit for the next 30 km.
On the last day we went to Abufeira. It`s a big flat water lagoon where Rui Meira has his kite school. Alvaro came aswell but only for one day cause he trys to be a good boyfriend and started to become a fireman now ;-)
However we had a good session on our 12 and....something bigger...
Did I tell you about the food? It`s amazing. I think we spend a few k only in restraunts. The finest seafood and meat I had in a long time.
Mission2Beach
Long time no hear. I just worked alot to fill my bank account for the winter. This week I went with Alper to Mission2Beach in Turkey. It`s a big party with 1000 people who graduated school. I was invited as a showrider for kitesurfing and wakeboarding. Quite fun but there was only one day of wind. At least I had a wakesession everyday! Most of the day I relaxed at the beach and partyed a little bit at night. There was Lützenkirchen and Skero and they really made the crowed freak out!!!
Yeah I know it`s a hard job down here...but the job needs to be done....;-)
Today it`s going home to meat my family and then next week I`m going to the Best Dealermeeting Portugal. We`ll be at Guincho which is super famous for big waves. As I am a "alter Fuxs" in waves I`m looking so forward to it. Best will also release a new kite and ´my expectations are quite high!

Alaska THE END
Two days before we left we decided to do another planetrip cause the weather looked promising. Passing Mount Mc Kinley we flew to Beluga Mountain but the snow wasn`t that good so we went further to a big glacier and tried to land on the frozen lake to get some kiting pics right in front of this unreal blue ice. Buuuuuut as the ice wasn`t thick enough we started to break through it as soon as we slowed down. So we ended the trip by doing some sightflying. We flew 10 meters over the ground through some canyons rivers and the blue ice. I felt like on discovery channel. Unfortunately Stefan got sick because you can imagine that small plane isn`t as stable as you are used to from the big airline planes. Now I`m at the airport in Minneapolis and it seems like all our flights are in time and the volcano ash chaos is over. I`m looking so forward to see my girl and all my friends again.
Beer&guns
On bad weather days there is not much to do. There was a big storm rushing through the Anchorage arm with wind up to 110 kmh. So after watching nearly all our movies it was time to shoot some guns like real Americans do! Chris had a surprisingly big collection of ruffles and guns. We bought some beer and drove into the woods to shoot around like some rednecks. I was quite nervous and had big respect of these weapons. They are so powerful! I shot the bearkiller gun only once cause it really hurts in your hands when it yanks back. After some time Steve decided to get home and bring his machinegun and automatic pumpgun which isn`t quite that leagal in the US ;-) Anyways we had so much fun and shot hundreds of bullets.
Alaska 3rd week
After Thompsonpass we drove back to Anchorage to do some planetrips up to the glaciers. But unfortunately there was a big snowstorm over big parts of Alaska and so we waited in our RV for more than 7 days and tried to kill some time. We went to a movie theater and shopping mall to do at least something. Then the weather got better and we did one flight up to the glaciers. It was breathtaking to see this endless untouched nature with glaciers twenty times as big as I have ever seen before. Well we didn`t find any wind and blew 1200 Dollar flying around for 3 hours…ufffGavin the photographer flew back to Florida and so us three decided to leave the city to Big Lake. We stayed at Chris place. He has a super cool house straight at the lake. So we could start our kites right in front of his garden. When there was no wind we raced around with the skidoos which are soooo powerful. My topspeed was 94 mph which is 155kmh in just a few seconds!!!!! At the evening we lightened a big bone fire and did some night kiting. I think there will be some amazing shots. So far Alaska was amazing but we are not looking forward for our flight home because of the volcano. Nobody really knows how long this will last. So we are checking the news everyday and hope that the volcano will calm down and we can fly home safely
Alaska part 2
After 8 days at Thompson pass we headed back to Anchorage to do some plane trips up at the glaciers but unfortunately there is a big storm over Anchorage and we can`t take off till Thursday. So right now we camp at the waterplane airport read books and watch movies to kill some time. Yesterday we went to a big amercianstyle waterpark with all the big slides and stuff. It was good fun plus we could shower, which isn`t possible in the rv cause the whole watersystem would freeze!
We talked to the pilot of this little bushplane and we tried to figuere out how all of us four will fit in it with all the gear. Flying wouldn`t be the problem but the takeoff from the glaciers will be pretty narly with all that weight. He told us some scary stories so we will see how this will work...hahaha
Time of my life
Well Alaska so far has been epic! It was a long travel over Amsterdam and Seattle to Anchorage. I was so impressed by the mountains that I could see from the plane but that was nothing compared to the mountains where we are right now. These are monsters!!!Anyways we stayed at the Hilton for two nights, checked out Anchorage, tried to overcome the jetlag and waited for Jacob Buzianis and Gavin Butler. So when they arrived we got this big 30 feet RV and headed straight to Thompsonpass. There was the tailgatealaska event. All the pros like Jeremy Jones, Danny Kaas, Shawn Farmer( who even started to snowkiting!!!) and Travis Rice. The pricegiving party was the strangest night ever. It was so funny. So far we got 6 out of 7 days snowkiting and my body is pretty done at the moment. They day without wind we took these 200PS strong snowmachines and rode up slopes that I never ever thought would be possible. Then I hiked up until the peak and boarded down. I have to say that it scared the shit out of me standing on top of that super steep mountain and you can`t see where to drop in cause it looked so different than from the parking lot. Well but I made it and boarded down full speed in fresh untouched powder for at least 2 minutes. I yelled so loud J HahahahaYesterday night there was an earthquake in Valdez, the area where we are right now but I slept like a baby…watsoever… no big deal ;-)Well we stay a few more days and then go back to Anchorage to where we will do some snowkitetrips with a plane. Landing wherever we want and the conditions are good.Stay tuned and stay out of school J
Chill the Hill
Here is the Poster od the Chill the Hill Event in Obertauern from the 10.-11. April
Really cool Contest and as the name said pretty "chilled" ;-)
It`s dedicated to Toni Ully who died two weeks ago in an avalange...
The first two places will go straight to the Ragnarokevent in Norway organised by the norwegian sk crew. It`s a long new long distance race and you also have to go uphill and kind of backcountry.
I would love to go there but my timetable says something else... :-)
Video of the Superfly Open
Check out the video of te Superflyevent:
http://www.bestkiteboarding.com/Videos?p=8&v=17
it was epic!!!!
Superflyopen U.S.A.
Well....Utah was epic!!! I couldn`t do any freestyle because of my finger but I didn`t cared too much and went just cruising around in that super dry powder on Powder mountain.
I only went there for 5 days and to get there was pretty tuff. I just came back from Marocco and 7 hours later I was flying to Utah (19 hours and back 30h....) It was sooo worth it. The USA is really different to europe. Eveything is double as big, double as tasty, double as unhealthy and people as friendly than over the pond!!!
I met alot of new people and made many useful contacts for the future.
So I just wanna thank all the people that made it possible to get me over there and especially Lia, Laury and Jacob!
So now I`m back in the Burgenland move all my stuff from St. Pölten to our new house Podersdorf and also plan the last stuff of the big trip to Alaska in one week.
Hell YEAH!!!!!!

Bestmeeting Marocco
Here are the pics from Dakhla Marocco. It was really cool to meet all the people again. I went there with Flo for two weeks. The first day we spent in Casablanca the capital. It`s a typical arabic city with all these little streets and markets. On the next day we flew 4 more hours down south. All you could see out of the windowss of the plane was desert. It looked like we are on the mars. And suddenly we were landing in the middle of the nowhere. But this nowhere had a huge flatwaterlagoon, wind everyday and and waves on the otherside of the lagoon ;-)
I had an awesome time over there until the incident...
Now it`s 8 days since I dislocated my finger and I was already back on the mountain snowkiting. It`s still swollen but it gets better everyday.
Murphys law...
Murphys law hit me pretty bad here in Marocco. I took care alle the winter long to not get hurt and 3 days before I go to Utah I luxated my finger.... That sucks. I was surfing in pretty big waves because the wind wasn`t strong enough and one wwave smashed me straight into the stones. We went to the hospital but people in europe would never call that a hospital. The doctors don`t look like doctors and there was dirt everywhere. They tried to put my finger back in but they couldn`t do it. They wanted to keep me there and try to operate me the next day if they can`t fix. But I signed a paper and went straight out. I don`t think I will ever wake up after a full anestesia there. I had luck and there was a friend from the Airsportfestival in Rumania aswell in the camp and he is really good doctor. After a few "muscle-relaxing" beers he could put it in again but after 4 trys!!! Two people had to hold me. It was unbelievable pain...
So I think I can go to Utah on Wednesday and will do a check at a specialist afterwards.
But as bad as it hit me, it could be worse. Today a guy from Estonia jumped in flat water, his board got stuck in the sand and broke it. He fell on the broken part which looked really sharp and cut his upper leg completly open. There was blood everywhere. People said it looked really serious! So the rumanian doctor can´t really enjoy his holiday here. He drove with him to the shitty hospital... I wish him all the best and hope he will be operated somewhere else!
Rumania 2010
This year it was the 3rd time that I have been at the Winter Air Sport festival in Sinaia/Rumania.Mihai a puplic notary picked us up from the airport in Bukarest with his super Pimp Porsche Cayenne S. We drove around a bit and he showed us the town. There are some impressive buildings left from the Komunists. The house of people is actually the second largest building in the world. It`s a square and each side is more than a kilometer long! We stayed this night in Bukarest cause it was already too late to get the gondola up to the top. On the next day we went up to the spot but unfortunately it was too foggy to ride. We only had two good days up there but these days were massiv!!!The people showed me how to do the speedflying stuff and it`s so much fun. We had perfect conditions and I have to say it just feels so natural to fly that wing. And for snowkiting it was like last year. It`s just an eeeeendless plateau J
Rumania is an awesome place for snowkiting with lots of really friendly people but the food isn`t that good up there. I ate a whole box of Black-Bear energybars. I was really happy that I got them with me ;-)Right now I`m in Dakhla in the western Sahara at the Best-meeting and we already had some really good sessions. One more week and then I`m of the Superflyopen in the U.S.
My big plans
Well there is a lot of stuff going on in the next two months. On Monday I`m flying to Rumania for one week. Then going to Marocco to the Best Dealer meeting in Dakhla for two weeks and then vole to Utah to the Superflyopen.
And after this i spend two weeks at home gain some energy and the I`m heading to Alaska for a 3 weeks trips with Jacob Buzianis. We are touring around with an RV with snowmobiles and he also prepared some trips with a small snowkiteplane.
Oh I`m looking so forward to. Shit, all my dreams come true....thx to BEST kiteboarding. So from now I just try to stay as healthy as possible and avoid not get hurt :-)
The last week was pretty chilled. Went snowkiting near my hometown and just had some fun. Also met with some Sponsors (which went pretty) and did some snowkitelessons.
www.snowkitekurse.at
It`s growing super fast!!!!
My Sponsors do make me happy!!!
The famous skiwax brand Holemenkol and Black-Bear sent me two boxes full of nice stuff. 5 boxes of energybars will provide me with power for a long time.
And Holmekol sent me a huge selection of things that make me go faster. The finest wax for me.
Actually I never was that much into the waxing stuff but I just checked how much faster I am with the right wax. You can ride in less wind and you can ride even smaller kites. Last weekend I was at the WM at the Reschensee in Italy. The Freestyle wasn`t that good. I got 5th but I have to say I didn`t risk too much. It was super icy and a friend of me broke his elbow on the Reschense two weeks ago. They don`t know if it ever will work proper again. So I took it pretty easy cause I have way too much plans goinig on in the next two months.( I´ll let you know soon)
In the race i did surprisingly good. I good 4th because the 2nd and 3rd were exequo. I just went there with my normal freestyle material and beat some people that are really into racing. With special boards and kites and so on. The Nemesis is just awesome for racing and with the Holmekol racewax it`s really an advantage.
It was good fun and I think next year I will focus more on race and be really prepared with the right equipment. There is a rumour that Best is going to build a special race Kite...so stay tuned...uuuuuuaaaaaah
Snowkiting Rumania
This is a small vid that I found in the net. It`s from the Winterairsports festival in Rumania last year. Many cool people and awesome spots to ride. Two more weeks then I hit it again!
Bujashaka...
Master of Woodquarter
A bit late but last week I have been at the Master of Woodquarter contest in Jaidhof. Really chilled event with all the people I know. This contest was judged Riders by Riders and I really like that. Number one: you don`t have to wait for your heat the whole day and then ride in shitty conditions...and number two: only the best one will win. There is no luck in the heat schedule. The one that impressed the most will win.
Anyways the wind wasn`t that strong and I got 2nd after Heinar. It´s always like Kenny vs. Spenny but good fun to ride with him. I won a nice dinner for two in the fine Hotel Karner in Podersdorf. THX!!!
SKM
Back from the Snowkitemasters. Really cool event with nice people and good mood! The conditions were pretty ok, only two days of bad weather but it didn`t matter cause then we had some time to hit the slopes. They got a hell lot of powder. Nearly too much for my short board. Sometimes we got stuck in powder up to our hips! Well the contest wasn`t as good as I wished but before I was in the snow only once. But in the end I felt like coming close to the conditions in that I was at the end of the last winter. Catched some Backmobes, kl hp, and some funny new tricks!
So in my first heat I won against a fench guy and a russian guy with the craziest jump I ever did. I was waiting on the top of the hill waiting for my heat. When it started I saw the frenchguy jumping down. The wind was strange cause it sucked him up and he flew out oft the competitionarea. So i decided to jump from further down but it sucked me up super high aswell. At the highest point I did a big loop to impress the judges but after that the wind freaked out. I did another loop and didn`t get down....So I did another and that`s when i started to rotate. I was thinking well...now it doesn`t matter any more just loop the shit out of it!
And so I did. The starnge thing was i didn`t got down. It sucked me up with every loop. After 10 loops I stopped counting an I have to say that I was a little bit worried cause this never happened to me before. anyways I landed in smooth. I would have the loops on tape so much but muphys law hit me bad and i think nobody got it on tape...
But it`s in my head.
Well after that jump i did some smaller jumps in front of the judges and on my last jump I crashed straight into the judgestent under their desk. Nobody got hurt but the moderator girl just startet to interview me. That was really funny! At the end it was enough to win my heat but on the next day Chasta just showed me that this is his playground and kicked me out.
Snowkitemasters 2010
After 15 hour of riding we arrived at the le Frog. Pretty exhausting but finally we get there. The weather forecasts doesn`t look that good for tomorrow but on monday and tuesday there will be sun and here we have a hell lot of snow. So now I`ll go to the Bar for a beer and then a chilling tv evening to gain power for tomorrow.

New Year in Italy
5 days ago we decided to drive to Italy to celebrate new year and check out the Rittnerhorn. So we grabed our girls and off we went. After 7 hours in Flo`s bus and some shopping in Salzburg we arrived at the Pizzaria Kaiserau. We didn`t booked a room so I tried to call hotels from the bus for hours. So we were pretty happy when they told us that they have 2 rooms left. The new year Party was awesome. The owners of the Kaiserau are from Mazedoina and their whole family came to visit them. Two hours later we were dancing in circles to traditional music and I just felt like in the movie “Borat”. We were kind of happy the next day that there was no wind ;-)But anyways we got two days of good wind. One day fully hardcore powered on my 7m Waroo. I never kited in that much wind! But going uphill full speed was just amazing. The Rittnerhorn is a huge playground with natural halfpipes and stuff to play around everywhere. But on the last days I destroyed my brand new Nemesis NXG after only 4 minutes. Crashed it straight into the stones. Aaaahhhhhhhhh……so yeah it was a nice holiday but now we went back to repair my kite and then we are going to France to the Snowkitemasters. That gonna be fun!!!!!
Merry X-mas
Sometimes life is a bitch...
Two days of snowkiting in the Mountains. We got good Southwind which isn`t that often in on the Pretul Spot. The snow wasn`t that much but enough to ride and have some fun. On the last day the wind picked up and became pretty gusty, so I ended up fully powered on the new 9m Waroo. I did some jumps and suddenly a gust hit me and smashed me into the ground. I got knocked out and blood was coming out of my nose. So far I was fine but now my whole body hurts. It feels like 5 guy beat me up for hours...
Now I`m relaxing at home but unfortunatelly I don`t know if I can go to Norway in two days as I planed.
We will see.
Let`s hope the best.
Christmas stress
Isn`t i t a bit stressful, the time before Christmas? (especially when you ran out of Snus...hehehe)
So I decided to take some time off and went to Vienna to see the cabaret show of Roland Düringer.
Suuuper funny! He is just the best Vienna redneck Prolo you can imagine.
Anyways only 7 days to go then I`m off to Norway, the land of endless Snus....ahhhhhh
ORF TV Show
Yesterday I got a mail from the National TV with a clip of me that was produced for the Tv Show Voll-Stark.
120.000 people were watching it. That`s a lot
A new kiddystar is born...Hanna Montana watch out!!!!
hahaha
Snowkitecamp Berninapass
From the 18.-21. of jan Florian from hangon-kiteboarding and I are organising a snowkitecamp at the Berninapass in Swizzerland. It`s the perfect location cause you get a little bit of everything. Huge flat areas to race, big mountains for flying and and just endless powder.
The hotel is just five min. from the spot so you can check the conditions just by looking out of the window!
There is a total amount of 20 people, so if you want to join us you should be fast!
Black-Bear Energy Bars
I`m proud to announce a new sponsor of me. Christian from Black-Bear sent me today two boxes of Energy bars. Perfect for fast energy up in the mountains. The ingredients are the highest quality available! For example the two owners went to Peru just to get the Maca nut that you can only find there. Or the special salt from the himalaya which is the purest and cleanest you can get.
So you can`t get anything healthier for your body, that`s for sure!
Go check it out:
www.black-bear.com
Support from Best-Body-Nutrition
Frank from www.best-body-nutrition.com sent me this pakage of energyboosters for Athletes. I can`t wait to try it. I think I can use the extra power in the mountains.
So it`s time to get real muscles....uuuuuahhhh!!!!!
Powdertrip.at
The last five days I was in the Pitztal in Tyrol. Titus from www.powdertrip.at invited me to show the people the fun of snowkiting. We all stayed in a nice hotel with a really nice spa, good food and a shuttle service straight to the resort wit the new BMW X1. Unfortunatelly we got the wrong winddirection to make it work but it didn`t matter cause instead we just went snowboarding in a hell lot of fresh powder. So it really was a big powdertrip.
For the next two weeks I will concentrate on learning and university. And on the 26.dec I`ll leave for 5 weeks long trip starting with Norway, France, Swizzerland, Italy and Austria.
Thanks to my sponsors, for making all that possible!!!!!!
Back in the Mountains
It feels so good to be back in the mountains again. For the last weeks I have been pretty busy doing some projects. I had to be the stuntman for the worldcup ski racer Marlies Schild. She is doing a Uniqa TV advertisment where she is snowkiting. It will be on tv all over the winter. So watch out. But anyways it was pretty hard to get propper footage. We have been on the dachstein now for three times and and it`s pretty difficult to get the right condition to do a clip like this. Once we had more than 100km/h wind, the other time the snow was just brown slush... So i hope this time we can use the footage for the advertisment.
I`m lucky there is not pic of me in Marlies Schild clothes cause they were pretty tight ;-)
I even crashed her pants when I was bending....hahaha sorry Marlies!
So two days ago I went there again with my girlfriend to just chill and visit a friend of us for a few days. Really relaxing and some good sessions in the park.
Boots biatch :-)
Protest Winterstuff
Today I got my new winterstuff from Protest. Really stylish clothes wich will keep me warm at frezzy snowkitedays.
Best birthdaypresent ever!!!!
Check it out: www.protest.eu
Mushow Snowkiteboards
As I said, back to the roots!!! Yesterday I went to Czech and met with Filip from Mushow. They supported me over the years with snowkiteboards and kiteboards. As I changed to Balance kiteboards on the water we had to talk if I can ride for Mushow only in the winter. It wasn`t a problem for Filip and I got a new snowkiteboard from 2009/2010. But in 3 weeks I`ll get the new 2011 protos with bananashape and a lot of new features, so watch out!!!
www.mushow.cz
SP-United...back to the roots
Back to the roots!!!! After one year of riding for Forum I came back to SP-United. They developed the Fastec bindingsystem which is perfect for snowkiting cause it`s so easy to get in and out with the kite in the air and you don`t have to hazzle around.
For more info about the Fastec system check out www.sp-united.com
BIG AIR
Austrian Championship 2009
The Austrian Championships are over and I got 4th. Because it wasn`t really good wind the result was ok but if it would have been windy it maybe would look different...;-)
Anyways congrats to Stefan Spießberger and the other Rider. The level increased super high and we could see some badass freestylemoves on the water!!!
Ireland
One week of pure fun. Best invited me to their Dealermeeting in Ireland.
I came there one day delayed cause I had to to a videoshoot on a glacier for a TV advertisement (I had do act as Malies Schild)
Anyways I was super tired from the journey and I was expecting rain cold weather and choppy water. But Ireland was way beyond my expectations. Just driving along the the huge green land seeing these endless flatwater lagoons on both sides of the street blew my mind. Waves and flat water nearly whereever you were looking and the water is pretty warm because of the golfstream passing by.
Best organised a different actions everyday. Mountainboarding, kiting, surfing, canoetrip and big Parties kept us entertained. Just watch the pics and the vid
Turkey one more time
I`ve been to Turkey with two friends for ten days and it was amazing. The parents of my friend bought a big new house straight at the sea and for sure we had to check it out. It took us pretty long to get there cause it`s in the real backcountry but all i can say is that it was worth it. A flatwaterlagoon straight in front of the house and wind everyday. But it was a totaly different culture we even got arreste for a short time because we did some fotos in the on a street. Kind of wired but that`s how things are going there.
Beside of that it was a cool trip and I love my new kites. Amazing for unhooked and boosting aswell
Mission2beach Turkey
So far it`s pretty chillaxed here in Turkey. I get up at 9, have breakfirst and afterwords straight to the beach. The wind isn`t as bad as I thought. I could ride erveryday with my 16 and one day even on my 10m!
My job is just to ride and have fun and at 6pm I am organising a Lord of the Board contest, where I pull people on the wakeboard with a Jetski. Pretty funny to see the people crashing when I´m going full speed! Haha
Every evening there are some big Partys at the beach which are pretty cool but people know me...I`m not a Partyboy so I stay at home most of the time (at this point I wanna greet my girlfriend) ;-)
Tomorrow I´m going back to Podersdorf and the windforecasts look pretty good.
My holiday just never quits...
Protest Team!!!!!
I`m pretty proud to announce my new sponsor Protest Boardwear!!!! Two days ago I got my new summerstuff and it looks dope! Anyways we will concentrate on the winter and will work close together to promote snowkiting and Protest in the magazins.
So far I´m doing pretty good, nailed some Frontmobes (a move that took me pretty long…) but unfortunately I hurt my knee a little bit doing a backflip on the beach. Damnit, I mean I ride super safe on the water to not hurt my knees and then I fuck it up messing around on a no wind day….arrr
But I`ll take some time off in in a few days I´m back on the water for sure.
On Friday I`m flying to Turkey to show the people of the www.m2b.at the fun of kitesurfing. And some more topsecret news. I had a look on the new Best kites and I couldn`t wish for something different. It`s like they designed it especially for me and my riding style. Just awesome, so stay tuned!
Lake Garda
The last four days I spent at Lake Garda in Italy. Nico and me were invited by Titus, the organizer of the www.a13trip.com to show the people how much fun kitesurfing can be! It`s a really nice concept, cause you don`t have a fixed program , everybody can choose what he wants to do the next day. Lake Garda has a really special flair for kiting. The super blue water, the high mountains on both sides and if it`s sunny there will be wind for sure cause it`s a thermal spot. But because of the parties we were normally too tired in the morning to catch the typical “Ora”, which starts at 5 and ends at 9. So we just chilled in the morning enjoyed the excellent Italien food and drove to the beach at 2 pm when the wind starts to blow from the other direction. As nice at this lake is, starting your kite is absolutely not funny! You have to walk with your lines into a tunnel while somebody else starts your kite on a 5 meter wide beach. Pretty tricky but as soon as you are on the water it`s just perfect. Steady wind and really nice kickerwaves. The next time I`ll stay at the lake Neusiedel, train, work and also learn for my exams at the university and in 3 weeks I`m invited by www.m2b.at to go to turkey and show some action!
Boots Biatch!!!!
One week ago I got my brand new Union Boots and all I can say is it just feels soooo right!!! I put it on my Best Oulja which rides really well but it`s a bit heavy. Anyways for me it`s perfect cause now I can train all my trick for the winter. I also tried it at the cable in Hungary today and I was pretty impressed about all the tricks I nailed. Until now I wasn`t that often at the cable but that will change for sure. It`s so much fun!And I took some pics of my destroyed Waroo. I really liked this kite so I asked a friend if it`s possible to repair but I think it`s just not worth…Sooo rest in peace little red Waroo! If you have a left half of a Waroo 11 2009 drop me a mail at o.palmers@gmx.at ;-)
Long time no hear....
I know I didn`t update my blog for some weeks but I was pretty buisy with working and University. About 6 weeks ago I moved to lake Neusiedel where I work at a Kiteschool. Check it out: www.kitesurfing.at
It`s one of the biggest kiteschool in the world and teaching can be pretty stressy but so far I really like it cause I`m getting payed well and it doesn`t "fell" like working at all ;-)
I organised a really nice flat and I live there with my roommate Kathi. Just 5 minutes from the water I could train alot the last weeks and it`s so cool to see the progression every session. I can`t wait to try the new tricks on the snow.
I also ordered some bindings from www.unhooked.at for my board. I tried it once and really got hooked. It feels way more like snowkiting.
So far
peace out
Last Snowkitesession...not really
The summer really kicked in the past days so last weekend my brother and me decided to go for a final snowkitesession up in the mountains. The forecasts looked really promising for the Semmering. Southwind and 22 degrees! Early in the morning we met at the spot and packed our stuff for a 1 ½ hours walk. Unfortunately it takes you pretty long to get up there but the good thing is that it keeps the people away, so it`s not overcrowded like some other spots in Austria. But we had bad luck. After the long walk there was no wind at all… so we just ate a “Schnitzerl” chilled in the sun and then snowboarded down throw the woods. The snow was really slushy which I really like cause it gives you the best Pop ever and crashes don`t hurt that much.Anyways it was a cool and relaxing day up in the mountains and we saw a really nice plateau from the top of the Semmering. It`s called “Veitsch”. We will check that out soon, so I`m pretty sure it wasn`t my last snowkitesession this year :-)
ORF Interview finally online!
Powerbalance
After I finished an important exam at the University got home and there was already a package from Powerbalance waiting for me.
They are my new Sponsor and have really cool Products. The clue about Powerbalance is a hologram and the fact that it can be programmed to hold certain frequencies. These frequencies promote the energy flow throughout the body.
It really increases my balance and overall feeling. I was sceptical at the beginning as well but the effect was just too big to not believe it. All the big Athletes like Andy Irons or Shaq O'Neil are using it for years.
Everything in Life ist just about energy and frequencies so check it out:

Wohooo it`s official...finally I made it to the Best International Team. I´m so stoked and really looking forward to work together with Bestkiteboarding, see what happens next and push the limits!
Always searching for something stronger ;-)

Also rock on, ride safe

Rock&Roll in Rumänien 8.01. - 12.01. 2009
